Dental Crowns in Woodbridge, VA

Restore the functionality and appearance of your teeth by visiting our reputable practice for dental crowns. The experienced dentists at our family practice provide custom crowns and bridges for patients of all ages, helping them smile, eat, and speak confidently. When crafting and fitting our crowns and dental bridges, we always use the most advanced techniques and equipment to produce optimal results.

Dental bridges and crowns not only improve your smile—they boost your overall oral health by protecting your damaged teeth. There are many reasons why you might be a candidate for dental crowns or dental bridges. Our dentist may recommend you for a crown or bridge if you have chipped, broken, or otherwise damage teeth or a large cavity. Decayed or diseased teeth often benefit from crowns and bridges. If you have had a root canal, a crown or bridge may also help you.

Improve the size, shape, and appearance of your teeth with dental crowns. After crowns and bridges are implanted, your teeth look natural and normal, allowing you to smile with confidence. This treatment is perfect for teeth that are structurally unsound. You may find eating is much easier after having a crown or bridge implanted. Make an appointment with our dentists to learn how custom crowns and bridges could help you.

Types of Crowns We Offer

Several varieties of dental crowns are available at our dentist office, all of which are custom-made. We currently offer porcelain, porcelain fused to metal and gold dental crowns to meet your needs. For a truly natural looking smile, we recommend porcelain crowns, since these can be made to mimic your teeth’s coloration perfectly. Porcelain-fused-to metal (PFM) crowns use a thin layer of porcelain over a metal shell for an authentic appearance on the outside and a strong interior. Our gold crowns use gold and some other metals in order to craft long-lasting crowns. No matter what type of crown you choose, yours is carefully sculpted to the ideal shape, size, and color to blend seamlessly with your other teeth.

In order to fit you properly with dental crowns that look as natural as possible, we schedule you for a short series of appointments. During your first visit, one of our dentists will reshape your damaged tooth and prepare it to be crowned by filing down the enamel slightly. We then take a mold of the tooth and the teeth around it. The mold is sent to our dental lab for the creation of your custom crown. You will be fitted with a temporary crown until the permanent one is complete and ready to be put in. Once your dental crowns are ready, our staff will ask you to return for the final fitting appointment.

Fill in Gaps with Our Dental Bridges

Cover a gap of missing teeth in your mouth with our custom dental bridges. A bridge restores the brilliance of your smile and usually makes eating and speaking much easier. They are a permanent alternative to dentures, typically composed of two anchoring crowns with false teeth in between. Like our crowns, the dental bridges we make our office are made from porcelain, gold, and other metals and alloys. We want you to feel completely confident in the way you look when you leave, so we strive to fit you with a bridge that is strong, durable, and attractive.

Our process for dental bridges begins with x-rays to check on the health of your teeth, particularly the teeth on either side of your cap. These teeth will be the anchor for the bridge, so they must be structurally sound. After the x-rays, an impression is made of your teeth. This impression is sent to our lab for the creation of the custom bridge. Until your dental bridges are completed, we fit you with a temporary model. When the dental bridge is complete, we call you back for another appointment, during which we will check the fit and cement the new bridge to your teeth.

Durable Oral Protection

Invest in your oral health with our custom crowns and bridges. With regular appointments and good oral hygiene, your dental crowns and bridges can last for up to 20 years. They are far more durable and strong than dentures or regular false teeth, plus they fit more comfortably in your mouth. For additional information about how crowns and bridges work and how they might benefit you, speak with our dentists or technicians.
